Almost Christmas and New Year! If you live in Toronto or are in Toronto during that time and you have some free time, here is a list of ideas to keep you busy during the holidays 🙂
5 activities to do in Toronto around Christmas:
1 – Go Ice Skating for FREE
Do you want to skate but don’t really know hw? Or, you don’t have any skates (and don’t want to spend money buying/renting some)? That’s perfect!
The Bentway, a space located under the Gardiner which offers an ice ring all winter long, is FREE on Thursdays! They offer the skates renting and also lessons to learn how to skate. Do not miss it!
Dates: Every Thursday from December 27th, 2018 to February 14th, 2019.
2 – Go to the Christmas Market (it’s not too late!)
It’s not too late to go to a Christmas market! The Toronto Christmas Market is open until this sunday night, you still have time to go and enjoy it… and maybe try on the Turkey legs 😉

3 – Go see classics at the TIFF
The TIFF is a very famous yearly film festival. But it’s also a cinema showing movies all year long!
Want to watch (or re-watch) classics on a big screen? For the holidaysm The TIFF is showing (old) classic movies like E.T, Indiana Jones, The Gremlins, Jaws or Jurassic Park!

4 – Go to the ROM for the holidays
The ROM – Royal Ontario Museum, is organizing an event called “ROM for the holidays“.
What is it? Well, during the holiday period, you can go and see the permanent and temporary exhibitions but also do some activities like quests or DIY, there are also some more temporary exhibitions. A different way to discover or re-discover the musuem!

5 – Celebrate New Year’s Eve at Nathan Phillips Square
The City of Toronto organize the annual New Year’s Eve celebration at the Nathan Phillips Square (in front of city hall). It’s free and anyone can go!
The program: Concerts all evening long followed by a big Fireworks at Midnight to celebrate the New Year!
