My 2019 reading challenge!

Actually, there is a ‘challenge’ going on social medias: Me, 10 years ago. To see, these people share who they were 10 years ago made me think about myself 10 years ago and who I am now. I was forced to constat that I (almost totally) gave up on one of my big passions of the time: read! Then, I found an Instagram story template “Classic books I read”. A list of books that a totally missing from my litterary education. Ok, let’s fix that, I’m giving myself a reading challenge in 2019!

My 2019 reading challenge

What are the books?

The books I plan on reading of those on this Instagram story template created by @KelseyInLondon et @hopelessbooklover_

But, even if the list is in English, I probably won’t read them all in English 😉 After all, it’s already had as it is as a challenge so let’snot complicate it with translation issues lol 😉 Plus, some of them are from French authors so better read the original version! 🙂

The books I already read in that list

Actually, there are only two:

  • The picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.
  • The Odyssey by Homer.

The first one being one of the few “classics” that caught my attention as a teenager (I loved to read but I mostly re-read Harry Potter). And the second one is a book I HAD to read at school when I was about 12 or 13 years old 😉

And yes, I’m French but No, I haven’t read Les misérables 🙈 (Yet!)

The BONUS book this year

Of course, this list is about the books I HAVE to read to complete my challenge, so I can improve my litterary culture. But I’m not limited to this list and I can read some more if I have time. In fact, I have already begun one book this year, the book of Michelle Obama “Becoming” 🙂

My reviews of these books

To get me a little more accountable for this challenge, I decided to create an account on a famous website for book reviews: Goodreads.com/Marinoushka

You will be able to follow my journey on this website, I’ll update it as I read the books and give my modest opinion about them when I’m done 🙂

So, this is it! Let’s read 21 books in 2019 meaning about 1.75 book per month! 🙂

À bientôt ❤️

Marion
